Overview
CFF (Compact Font Format) is Adobe's compressed PostScript font format, designed as a more efficient replacement for Type 1 fonts. CFF uses the same cubic Bézier curve outlines as Type 1 but with a more compact binary encoding.
CFF is most commonly encountered as the outline format within OpenType fonts (OTF files with PostScript outlines). These OpenType CFF fonts combine CFF's efficient outlines with OpenType's advanced typography features.
