PFB (PostScript Font Binary) is the binary-encoded variant of Type 1 PostScript fonts. It stores the same font data as PFA but in a more compact binary format, typically 20-30% smaller.
PFB was the standard PostScript font format on Windows systems, while Macintosh used resource-fork formats. PFB files require a separate PFM (Printer Font Metrics) file on Windows.
